I just received word of a webinar on the Respondus Lockdown Browser. We have a site license for this browser at UM. You can set a quiz, test, or self-assessment in Blackboard so that it can only be taken in the Lockdown Browser. While the Lockdown Browser is in use the computer cannot go to other pages, print the test, copy the text, or do other similar things. It is not perfect, since the student can have another computer that they use to look up answers, or even use a smart phone, but it helps. And it means that everyone is using the same browser for the activity, which reduces the number of problems that might occur.
